Raise A Catboy

Guide

How Money per Second Works

Checked

Money in Raise A Catboy is not collected and not clicked. It is a rate attached to your catboys, printed under the cash counter as +$N/s and paid continuously while you play. Nine catboys we read span $5/s to $6.9K/s, and late-session accounts in the same footage run at $734K/s.

Money comes from catboys, not from clicking

The money counter is the clearest diagnostic in the game. A fresh account shows $0 with +$0/s. The moment the first hatch lands it becomes +$5/s. Nothing else you can do in the first minutes moves that second number.

That makes the early game simple to reason about: the only question that matters is "what did I just hatch", and the only way to change the answer is to steal from better nests. Compare the catboys page for the per-catboy figures.

Three income tiers we saw

Stage What the counter reads What it means in practice
First hatch +$5/s A $10K cat wheel upgrade is 33 minutes away
Mid session +$45/s Trail prices in the thousands become reachable
Late session +$35.8K/s to +$734K/s $100K and $3M thresholds stop being walls

The gap between the first two rows is nine times; between the first and last it is over a hundred thousand. That is why advice about "what to buy" is meaningless without knowing which row you are on.

Reading the leaderboard

A board in the middle of the street lists every player on the server under three columns: People, Money/s, Speed. A typical reading from one session:

  • tealyti — $7.55M — 579K
  • Tokito — $33.1K — 173K
  • Nolanm371 — $45 — 873
  • viví — $4.3B — 18M

Two things are worth noticing. Money/s and Speed are ranked separately, so the top earner is not always the fastest. And the spread between first and last is enormous — a new account sits three to four orders of magnitude below the top of its own server.

Player cafes on the same street

Every player's plot carries a nameplate with their own rate on it, for example Lunarii's Café $341K/s or TrxVert's Café $1.43M/s. Passing those signs is the fastest way to see what "further along" looks like.

We could not confirm whether visiting another player's cafe earns you anything, or whether the sign is purely a display. Nothing in the footage showed a visitor's counter changing at someone else's plot.

What to upgrade first

The order that follows from the numbers:

  1. Hatch more eggs. Nothing beats raising the rate itself, and Common nests are free to steal from.
  2. Buy Yarn Trail at $3K once your rate is in the hundreds, because it doubles wheel output for trivial cash.
  3. Hold cash for the $10K wheel upgrade if you are still under $1K/s — 33 minutes of income at $5/s is a long wait, so do it when the rate makes it cheap.
  4. Ignore anything in the millions until your counter reads four digits per second. The next wheel step is $300M.

What we could not confirm

  • Whether the $N/s on a catboy nameplate is its own rate or the account total.
  • Whether the two game passes, 2x Cash and 2x Egg Hatch at 149 Robux each, multiply the counter or the hatch quality. Both are described only by name in Roblox's API.
  • Whether income accrues while offline.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you make money fast in Raise A Catboy?

By hatching higher-income catboys. The counter is the sum of your catboys, so the lever is egg quality, not play time.

What does the leaderboard measure?

Three columns, People, Money/s and Speed, ranked per player on the server.

Do player cafes earn money for their owners?

Cafes carry nameplates with a $/s figure on them, which suggests each player's plot displays their own rate. We could not confirm whether a visiting player earns anything from another player's cafe.
